Amazon.com: UDON s Art of Capcom: Complete Edition.

Udon has been around for 14 years, working closely with Capcom to produce comics, art books, and video games and bring us closer to our favourite franchises. I’ve been a fan of Udon ever since Kotaku wrote a post about their first art book Udon’s Art of Capcom . It was big, bold, and showed that Udon’s artists could creatively meld our favourite world warriors , school fighters , and evils that go bump in the night . Now they’ve collected both Art of Capcom volumes and coupled them with a few more bits and bops from other art books to produce this massive volume; Udon’s Art of Capcom Complete Edition.

Capcom fans rejoice! UDON Comics, the guys and gals behind the manga based on popular Capcom franchises such as Street Fighter , Rival Schools , and Darkstalkers (or Vampire Savior) have released a limited edition hardcover artbook that includes great works from awesome artists.

Several hundred fully colored plates of art are packed into 314 pages; pages 55 to 60 fold out to showcase the covers of Street Fighter issues 10 to 12 in a stunning four page layout. Resident UDON staff Arnold Tsang, Andrew Hou, Omar Dogan, Long Vo, Joe Ng, Jim Zubkavich, Espen Grundetjern, Joe Vriends, Eric Vedder, Jeffrey Cruz, Jorge Molina, Chris Stevens, and Alex Chung all chime in on their Capcom favorites.

Other artists include: Alvin Lee, Kevin Lau, Hyung-Tae Kim, Jo Chen, Christine Choi, Shinkiro, Alan Wang, Corey Lewis, Lesean Thomas, Joe Madureira, and many more. In the back, two artists -- Arnold Tsang and Omar Dogan walk through (briefly) how they approached their covers (Tsang's piece is the hard cover, Dogan's piece is for the soft cover) in their "Pencil to Pixel" pieces.

If you love Capcom's Street Fighter , you'll enjoy the content even more (it's nearly half the book). Consequently, there's just enough art to whet one's appetite for the less popular Rival Schools and Dark Stalkers . All in all, UDON's Art of Capcom is nifty and rich with images ranging from the risque to the offbeat. Besides, we're talking a massive 8.5" x 12" treasure you can beat beached whales to death with. How can you argue with that logic?
